In the crowded budget smartphone market, HMD Global has released the Nokia G21 which aims to deliver solid all-around performance at an attractive price point. Let’s take a closer look at what this new 4G Android phone has to offer:

Display and Design
The Nokia G21 sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels in a 20:9 aspect ratio. It has a respectable 81.6% screen-to-body ratio in a plastic body that weighs 190g. The display features a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling.

Performance
Under the hood, the G21 is powered by the Unisoc T606 processor, an octa-core chip with two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 1.6GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.6GHz. It is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage expandable via microSD card.

While not a powerhouse, this setup should handle basic apps and games reasonably well for the price. The Mali-G57 MP1 GPU takes care of graphics duties.

Camera
In the camera department, the Nokia G21 packs a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50MP main sensor with PDAF, plus 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors. On the front, it has an 8MP selfie camera.

The main rear camera can record 1080p video at 30fps. Overall, the camera specs are modest but should get the job done for basic photography needs.

Battery Life
One of the key highlights of the G21 is its large 5050mAh battery which Nokia claims can last up to 3 days on a single charge with regular use. It supports 18W fast charging as well (10W charger in the box).

Other Features
The Nokia G21 runs Android 11 out of the box and has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics. Connectivity features include dual 4G, Wi-Fi AC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB-C port. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Pricing and Availability
The Nokia G21 is currently listed on Jumia Nigeria for NGN 106,374 (around USD 180) for the 4/64GB Nordic Blue variant.

For its affordable price, the Nokia G21 brings a combination of decent specs, triple rear cameras, a large battery, and clean Android software to the budget segment. If you’re looking for an inexpensive 4G smartphone that can handle daily tasks reliably and doesn’t need high-end performance, the Nokia G21 is a viable option to consider.
